The New Forest is now nearly one thousand years old, having been created as a Royal Forest by William 1st in the late 11th Century. The landscape is very varied containing ancient oaks and other large deciduous trees, commercial conifer plantations, heathland, and bog. The Forest is close to where I live and so I have been photographing it for about 30 years now but there are also other forest locations that I visit and photograph regularly.
